One of the first multimedia stars, from 1934 to 1954 Bing Crosby held a nearly unrivaled command of record sales, radio ratings and motion picture grosses. Although born in the United States, Bing Crosby's maternal grandparents were from Ireland and he is well-known for his singing of traditional Irish songs. Bing Crosby grew up listening to the classic Irish Tenors like McDermott as well as early jazz. The results heard on this short collection show Crosby as uniquely qualified to present the best of both worlds. Crosby approached all the songs with a very relaxed and uniquely American delivery which retained the warm round tones of the Irish tenors. His mellow voice and clever turns of phrase puts to mind the green and beautiful countryside of Ireland. Bing Crosby defined the popular Irish-American songbook with the gems presented on the My Favorite Irish Songs CD. The My Favorite Irish Songs CD track titles:

  • Danny Boy
  • Oh! 'Tis Sweet to Think
  • Rose of Tralee
  • Dear Old Donegal
  • McNamara's Band
  • When Irish Eyes are Smiling
  • Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral (That's an Irish Lullaby)
  • How Can You Buy Killarney?
  • Galway Bay
  • St. Patrick's Day Parade
