Portrayed on this St. Rita medal pendant is the patron saint of impossible situations, healing of wounds, loneliness, and those suffering from abuse. Born in Italy in 1381 and married at 12 to an abusive husband, she converted him by kindness and ended family feuds. After his death, she entered a convent and became known for her efficacy with prayer. The pendant is crafted in fine sterling silver and the front of the St. Rita medal shows the crown of thorns at her chest. Legend says she prayed underneath a crucifix wishing to suffer like Christ when a thorn from the crucifix fell striking her in the forehead. Ever after, the bleeding wound, considered a partial stigmata, pained her until death on May 22, 1457 which is her feast day.

The 18 inch rhodium plated chain on the St. Rita medal pendant fits most women and children receiving their First Communion and Confirmation. The back is blank perfect for engraving. We offer personalized engraving for $9.95 which includes up to 3 lines with 10 characters on each line (including spaces and punctuation). See below to add engraving to your order and type in your desired engraving text.
